Since April 2013, our monthly fourth Friday open mic poetry night has been drawing new voices and seasoned performers alike. In August 2019 we shifted venues, from 5047 Forest Hill Ave. to Manchester, at 700 Bainbridge St. A casual Southside coffeehouse, Cafe Zata has an intimate & urban feel (and a generous beer/wine/dinner menu) and is a great space to share work or simply to relax and listen. Each evening averages 20-30 performers (including first-time readers, spoken word artists, published poets, students, veterans…) and is welcoming of anyone with a love of the written word.
Open mic signup is onsite and begins slightly before the event opens at 7pm—just look for the pink clipboard!
